Enerby, the Mendoza venture that manufactures electric bikes for Toyota

The news travels the country and part of the Continent: Toyota launches its line of electric bicycles under the T-Bikes brand. But for Mendoza the novelty has a very special component, since those who produce the product for the Japanese giant is neither more nor less than a group of entrepreneurs from Mendoza who years ago bet on this project called Enerby.

It is a brand that has been installed in the province for a long time and that in this section of Mendoza Post we tell about this undertaking and the characteristics of ecological bikes, which will now tour Argentina and perhaps several countries in South America with a production base in Mendoza and Buenos Aires.

In Toyota’s words: “Enerby is a startup from Mendoza dedicated to the design and manufacture of electric mobility solutions.”

In that sense, Negretti -co-founder of the local company-, is convinced that these shots change the lives of users. “These bikes are technically called assisted pedaling, they have 5 levels of assistance and are chosen according to the effort you want to make. You can also opt for zero mode, that is, you can turn off the engine completely and continue pedaling,” he explained. the entrepreneur

All about T-Bikes

Toyota Argentina presented the T-Bikes, its new line of electric bicycles, the first milestone of the brand’s entry into the micromobility segment that was created in association with Enerby.

This is the bice that Mendoza Enerby produces for Toyota.

The T-Bike is an e-mountain bike designed both for commuting in the city and for outdoor exercise. It achieves an ideal balance between stability for speed on the flat and the agility needed for off-road climbs and obstacles, with 5 levels of assistance and an electric autonomy of up to 70 km.

Both the high-strength steel frame and its 36v lithium-ion battery are produced in Argentina. It incorporates a 350W Brushless electric motor, hydraulic disc brake and Shimano transmission, Full LCD screen with consumption and autonomy guide, latest generation suspension with remote lockout and 29″ Tubeless tires.

The streets are increasingly filled with electric bicycles.

Available in black or red, the T-Bikes are sold through the 90 points of sale of the brand’s 42 official dealers -in Mendoza, the official Toyota Yacopini dealer- at a price of $377,952 (during August).

Its battery has a useful life of 1,000 cycles (4-5 years), and its intelligent charger with automatic cut-off completes the total charge in less than 6 hours. Although its electronic components do not require maintenance, it is recommended to carry out a maintenance service at 1,000 km, enabled at any official Toyota dealer.

“For a brand like Toyota to enter this market is a very important step to promote electric mobility in Argentina,” said Nelson Negretti, co-founder of Enerby. While Bernardo Fernndez Paz, director of Toyota Customer Service, pointed out that “T-Bikes are a new way of getting closer to our customers. And they are proof of how we are thinking about the future of mobility in Argentina.”
