in Cerro Catedral, the Play Park that never closes

Snow is guaranteed on Cerro Catedral de Bariloche to ski down to the base. The mountain is 90% operational, but every day, after analyzing the safety conditions, the tracks and means enabled for the weather conditions are defined.

What never closes (regular hours 9am-5pm) is the base’s Play Park which has a large area for beginner skiers and snowboarders with five Magic Carpet (long conveyor belts) allow better accessibility to those who take the first steps in the snow because the ascent by this means of elevation is on foot.

This season the skiable surface in the Play Park was extended with the installation of two new Magic Carpet to the left of the Amancay cable car. In this space, initial classes and baptisms in skiing are offered with guarantees of learning even for those who have never put on the boards.

The teaching is progressive and once the basic guidelines of the sport are mastered, it is possible to ascend to the intermediate zone of the mountain where there are also accessible slopes.

Alsothere is SnowBMX rental, a kind of bicycle that instead of wheels has a table similar to a snowboard at the base to slide on the snow. For now this service is only enabled for groups of graduates.

At the base there is also a wide offerto gastronomy, shopping and pubs, many of which have after ski proposals with live DJs.

For the little ones, this winter the Cathedral Kids Club was reopened, a nursery for children from 45 days old to 11 years old, which has games, activities, workshops, a children’s library and a PlayStation room.

In the mountains, this weekend the Lenga chairlift was inaugurated and in this way, two new slopes, Garganta and Paralela, were launched to enjoy the central part of the mountain.

Cerro Catedral has a single rate for skiing in the winter season. For the beginnersin the Play Park the cost of the pass is 7,300 pesos for adults, 6,100 pesos for children (from 6 to 12 years old) and 4,200 pesos for children (under 5 years old).
